The course is designed to introduce teaching to those who are either already working or interested in working within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers, or Local Authorities. It is aimed at:

• Individuals aspiring to or currently working as teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector
• Those who are new to teaching/training or have recently started a teaching/training role
• Individuals seeking a short qualification to help them explore career options
• Assessors looking to gain an introductory teaching qualification
• Individuals who have previously completed introductory training qualifications

Course requirements 

1. Learners must be competent in speaking, writing and understanding English (Level 2 in English)
2. You will be expected to micro-teach as part of assessment, therefor please have the subject knowledge/ relevant qualifications/experience for the subject you intend to teach
3. No previous teaching experience is required
4. This course does require significant independent studying, please ensure you have the ability to dedicate time to be able to complete course work

• Comprehending roles, responsibilities, and relationships in education and training
• Grasping and applying inclusive teaching and learning methods in education and training
• Recognising assessment practices in education and training

LEARNING OUTCOME  

Upon successfully completing the course, you will:

• Recognize your own roles, responsibilities, and boundaries in teaching and training
• Comprehend suitable teaching and learning strategies within a specialized field
• Exhibit session planning skills by planning, delivering, observing, and evaluating a micro-teach session
• Learn how to conduct inclusive sessions that engage and motivate learners
• Understand various assessment methods
• Analyze the importance of accurate record-keeping and procedures, including internal and external verification
