The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is specifically designed for individuals who are determined to serve as an emergency first aider in the workplace. Upon successfully completing the course, participants will master the essential skills required to confidently and effectively provide safe and prompt first aid in emergency situations.

Course requirements

Learners must be competent in speaking and understanding English.

TOPICS COVERED:

• Roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider
• Incident assessment
• Managing an unresponsive casualty
• Performing CPR and using a defibrillator
• Placing a casualty in the recovery position
• Assisting a choking individual
• Managing seizures
• Responding to shock
• Treating wounds and controlling bleeding
• Handling minor injuries, including:
• Cuts, grazes, and bruises
• Minor burns and scalds
